The 9/11 attacks were prescripted in their manual (Qur'an). Where in the Christian manual does it say to blow up buildings? And who said McVeigh was a Christian?

If you are to generalize and weakly conjecture meaning from it, though, then there could be dozens of instances in the "Christian manual" that "prescribe" the blowing up of buildings. Jack: Your weak argument shows no proof or explanation for either case. So please allow me to help you.

The Qur'an clearly states in Sura 5 that the Muslims are at war. It gives infinite detail that can hardly be defined as "weak." This is no twist, just a clear reading of the text using a proper hermeneutic.

And no sir, the Bible in no way alludes to Christians harming others in any way due to religious responsibilities... Just the opposite in fact. The Bible instructs us to love because He first loved us, and to share the Gospel with all of creation (Mark 16:15).

And yes, anyone can twist religious texts, but that doesn't make them true. So you should be asking yourself, Jack, what was the author trying to impart? Because that's when the text takes on to the true meaning.

Obama is no Christian, at least by his evident fruits. He claims there is more than one way to heaven which the Church would define as heresy. Needless to say that point is also postmodern and makes no sense. Either the President is right or Jesus was right, but they can't both be correct. They're mutually exclusive.

And, Jack... Really? Your ad hominem and strawman fallacies have no place here. Of course I'm worthy of communication and will listen to all those that oppose. But to ask that I stop posting online? Can ask the same of you?

Please, slow your roll and offer some tolerance to those that disagree.

Yes, because he was bombing the federal building in the name of Jesus Christ, screaming Christian sayings at the time and then bragging how great the bombing was since Jesus wanted it destroyed. Oh wait....that's not what happened at all. Oh well, the cartoon worked for all of 5 seconds until I actually thought about it.

If you want to go verse by verse, I can do that after work with you. But using the Bible as a source doesn't work, as it contradicts itself frequently.

You say Church, and even capitalize it. Which church? There seems to by countless Christian churches, many claiming to be the One, putting down all others.

I'll pull out my copy of both the Qur'an and the King James Bible if you'd like. You are wasting time with your Obama not being Christian rhetoric, because even if he wasn't, it wouldn't and shouldn't matter. Remember, America was settled on the basis of freedom OF religion and freedom FROM religion.

first, if we are paralleling mcveigh to the hijackers, should we also approach the koran like the turner diaries? next, the first amendment is as important as every victim from every war. if we let the events of september 11th suspend the first amendment, even to muslims, the terrorist have won. i say this even though for the last ten years, the patriot act, guantanamo.. have done a pretty good job at stripping rights away. if we aren't willing to defend our constitution, even when it doesn't agree with us, we will lose it, and should.

@Jack, you attack the Bible based on the Inquisition and the settling of the USA? Neither events were inspired or based on any biblical texts. How 'bout trying to find an actual quote from Jesus that says Christians should attack their enemies (spoiler, there are none).

A Christian church placed near the site of a disaster is a sign that the Christians of that community want to reach out to those affected and offer hope and healing.

The fact that 9-11 attacks were perpetrated by Muslims makes putting a Mosque at the site an insult to many people. Although I'm sure the Muslims who want to build it don't share the same mind as those terrorists (and they may even want to think of themselves as offering "hope and healing" through this gesture), it still sends a very bad message.

To compare a Church to a Mosque is insulting.

I don't know about Obama's personal faith, but I'm sure like most politicians his beliefs don't effect his policies as much as his party's agenda (ie. abortion, gay rights, etc).

Well, neither were in the Bible and the Inquisition was handled by the Catholic church, not Christians, per se. And yes, there is a difference between the two. All I'm asking for are verses, Jack... Again you set up strawmen that are oh so easy to knock down.

Contradicts frequently? I've been reading it for years and not found any. Most of these "contradictions" (that you fail to name, by the way) are easily explained. The problem? Most people don't wish to hear the explanation. I'm not sure if you're part of that category or not.

I capitalize "Church" not because of my own non-denominational denomination, but alluding to the Christian Church (universal) of Scripture.

I care about about because Obama's claims because (1) He distorts the Truth and the Gospel and (2) there's no other desire I have than to truly see him saved.

And no, America was settled as a Christian nation no doubt. But I do agree, and practice tolerance to those that practice other faiths. But I have a greater calling because if Scripture is correct, then I want to share the good news (www.needgod.com) with all.

I understand your overarching theme of hypocrisy, and I agree. Most (not a few) in the churches are not true believers. Jesus even claimed this would be the case when he said "broad is the way." But you cannot judge a faith from the actions of its "presumed" followers. It would be like if a person claiming to be your friend came up and punched me in the face, and I was then mad at you. Therefore it's unfair to judge Christianity for these things, Jack. Dust of that Bible and look to the Word instead.

Timothy McVeigh's political ideology was grounded in Christian Identity, a white supremacist group. The Oklahoma City bombing was very specifically based on events suggested in a Christian Identity book that McVeigh had promoted. http://www.eyeonhate.com/mcveigh/mcveigh3.html

Obviously, Christian Identity ≠ the Christian faith. We all know that. We all know that it would be ludicrous, even offensive, to blame Christianity for the Oklahoma City bombing.

Likewise, al Qaeda ≠ the Muslim faith. But a lot of people are using honest cultural ignorance and/or outright bigotry to unjustly conflate the two.

Here's what we need to answer: What does the Qur'an state about religious tolerance/domination? Look, I have friends who are peaceful "Muslims." And trust me, I would love for all Muslims to hold to this ideal (therefore I wouldn't have to be looking over my back all the time). But I'm also a realist. I was talking to a guy in NYC just last week that said if he had admitted he was a Christian to his Muslim employers, they would beat him in the face immediately and then look for a time to get him alone so they could kill him. Such is the "Religion of Peace."

So I would also say this: American Muslims ≠ the Muslim faith. Just like many "Christians" don't reflect what the Bible clearly states. Yes, you can call yourself a "Christian" all day long, but calling yourself this no more makes you a Christian than going to a garage every Sunday makes you a car.

So look at both texts. Understand both. And when you turn off the news, it's easy to see what the Qur'an instructs. And friends... It's scary.

If you'd really like to look at what the Qur'an teaches, look up author Robert Spencer (http://www.jihadwatch.org/) as he is currently one of the American experts on Islam.

I'm going to wait right here while you find me the passages that say something along the lines of "All Americans should die, so says the Qur'an." Which, I might add, I find hilarious because the Qur'an was written BEFORE America was even known to have existed in the old world. So if you're going to say that the Qur'an was written as a tool to destroy Western Civilization or America or even to coincide with the befalling of the Twin Towers, do some research before you speak. And don't say the Bible ONLY says do good unto others. Because, as you can clearly see, the Old Testament is CHOCK FULL of delicious tidbits proudly exclaiming the Lord's word that men are allowed to destroy other men as it please God himself...as it is so clearly written.

As an OKC native who saw the smoldering shell of the Murrah Bombing from my 2nd period class, and who's mother was one of the emergency responders on site, I would like to give the satirical value of this comic the Oklahoma City stamp of approval.

Timothy McVeigh's actions were no more sanctioned by God than any of the 9-11 high jackers actions were sanction by Allah. I can't think of a better monument to either tragedy than to build a place of community, healing and solemn prayer, regardless of creed.

Rpsanty: Its becuase of tolerent and neutral people like yourself and Jack Waters, we the Muslim Americans find it safe to be living in America. I being a Muslim American strongly condemn the acts of Timothy McVeigh as well as 9/11 but i fail to understand why are we still being judged based on our religion and the interpretation of its scriptures? No matter which religion we follow, we all have good and bad people amongst us. When you say Quran says ' All muslims are at war' then that doesn't mean physical war againts the western world or any other religion, it means the war against the evil and we all know the evil resides inside of us all. I feel like if we stop watching 'the sitution room' on CNN(just an example) for a week, we will start loving each other again. Ever since i was born here I had not heard anyone saying the word 'Terrorist' and calling out each others religions bad names until 9/11. So where did these radical muslims appear from all of a sudden? Not to blame anyone but looking at the history of America, we have always stayed in war but this time its worse because its not against a country or a nation, its againts a religion. We will spend our whole life debating on who's religion is right or wrong and the people behind these evil acts will still get what they had initially wanted by sowing the seeds of hatred among us.

As I've vehemently stated on Facebook, Twitter, and anywhere I can express my voice (Thanks, Amendment 1, also the same amendment which guarantees freedom of religion...anyone unfamiliar with this should look it up...it's fantastic), no religion breeds hatred or violence. Only ignorance, stupidity, and zealots breed violence falsely in the name of religion hoping to hide behind a thin veil that masks their true intentions, which is not what their particular religion preaches in the first place.

As far as your absurd challenge, I was of course speaking of the Islamic domination of any culture other than their own.

Sean/Ali: Yes, Islam does sanction violence. I read the Qur'an. It's there. But believe me... I wish all Muslims were as you!

However, look at the history of Islam. It's a culture that incompatible with the west IF you obey the Qur'an. Here are just a few of some choice verses from the holy book from the "Religion of Peace:"

Qur'an (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.

Qur'an (4:104) - "And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain..."

Qur'an (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Qur'an (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"

Qur'an (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah"

Qur'an (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

Qur'an (25:52) - "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an)."

Qur'an (47:4) - "So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners"

Scary to say the least. But the fact remains is it TRUE? Either Christianity is right or Islam is right... But they can't both be correct.

Suppose you were to stand before God, and God were to say to you, "Why should I let you into my Heaven?" What would you say? Would you tell him how you have been a pretty good person, have not really committed any serious crimes, and so you assume you will be going to Heaven?

If so, then take this quick test to see how "good" you really are:

1. Have you ever lied? Even once? "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." Exodus 20:16
2. Have you ever stolen anything? Even from youth, cheated on taxes, or taken something, even small in it's value? "You shall not steal." Exodus 20:15
3. Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Jesus said that "whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:28
4. Have you ever taken God's name in vain? Have you used His name as a curse-word, or used it in a meaningless way, like saying "Oh my G-d!" This is called "blasphemy" and the Bible says "The Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His Name." Exodus 20"7
5. Have you made up your own "god" to suit your own interests and beliefs? Are you more interested in things of this world, than things of God? "You shall have no other gods before Me." Exodus 20:3

If you answered "yes" to any of the questions above, then you are guilty of breaking some of God's commandments. You see, there are 10 commandments, and we have only looked at five of them. And the Bible says that if you are guilty of breaking one commandment, then you are guilty of breaking them all.

It is our God-given conscience that tells us when we do these things, that we are wrong. "Anyone who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins." James 4:17. And do you know what the consequence of sinning is? The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23 It is death because sin completely separates us from God. And on judgement day, you will have to answer for every sin... "each of us will give an account of himself to God." Romans 14:12 The place where God sends those that are murderers, adulters, thieves, liars, blasphemers is Hell.

At this point, you might be thinking that even though you have done some of these bad things, that you are still not "bad" enough to be sent to Hell for them. Well, if you just sinned 3 times a day.... one wrong thought, one wrong action, and didn't do something you knew you should, then by the end of the year, you would have committed 1,000 sins! If you live to the age of 75, then 75,000 sins were committed by you. What if you walked into a traffic court with 75,000 traffic tickets? Why, the law would punish you, there is no doubt! Justice demands that crimes are paid for, and how much more Just and Holy is God? He is a righteous Judge, He hates sin, and Jesus warned that God, in His wrath, will cast all who sin against Him into eternal fire "where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13:42

Is there any hope then for anyone to get into Heaven? Has anyone on this earth ever walked a perfect, sinless life?

The answer is.... yes! There is hope for us because there is One Who did walk on this earth, and was completely sinless. He knew no sin himself, but took on the sins of the world, and consequently, suffered under the full wrath of God. He is Jesus Christ, and the Bible says that "God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world would be saved through Him. He that believes is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already..." John 3:16-18. And after He died on the cross, He rose from the dead, defeating death itself!

You cannot possibly earn eternal life - it is a free gift to those that humble themselves and believe. "Turn to God in repentance and have faith in the Lord Jesus" Acts 20:21. He will forgive your sins and give you a new heart... for the Bible says "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." 2 Corinthians 5:17 And when this happens, when you have truly received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are "born-again" - Jesus said the following: "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born-again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3

Then, read the Bible and obey it. Find a good Bible-believing church to help you grow. Pray daily to God and tell others the Good News!

May the Lord touch each and every person who read my previous comments, and know that I only challenge because I love you and want the best for you. What type of person would I be if I claimed to know the cure to death yet didn't share it with my fellow man? Yes, I'm tolerant. Just because I disagree doesn't mean I'm "intolerant." As a matter of fact, tolerance can't exist with disagreement in the first place.
