I couldn't imagine acting out parts with invisible characters and a blue screen. CGI sucks for the most part IMHO. Either keep it real or like shrek but don't try to enhance real live acting with it, especially in such a grotesque way.
I'm boycotting this movie; I LOVE the book entirely too much to sit through the over-acting that Mr. Carrey will surely thrust upon his roles. Sinful they gave him one role, let alone 4...
Lets's see .. there's already about a million versions of this classic tale. A new one doesn't erase the old ones. Carrey fans will love it, If you are a Carrey hater, I respectfully suggest you don't go (as if). If you are neutral but think that casting Carrey was an odd choice, give the man the benefit of the doubt and give it a go. I run hot and cold on his performances, but this seems right up his alley to me, so I'm going.
Don Halley said it best. Jim's done some fine work; I'll give him a chance to do it here. Haters can go elsewhere. (Dumples, Dick Van Dyke sprang to my mind, too! Must be the Disney connection.)
